Amphora Vinbar is Heartland Festival's very own wine bar, serving natural, high-quality wine. With a lot going on at a festival, Amphora Vinbar needed an eye-catching visual identity that clearly communicated associations to wine and made you want to come over and have a sip.
“Amphora” stems from the Greek word “Amphiphoreus,” which means “to carry on both sides.” Inspired by the symmetry found in the shape and function of the Amphora, a logo was designed with a composition where 'A' and 'V' reflected each other. The 'V' was represented as a bunch of grapes to establish a clear connection to wine. The wordmark of the logo was inspired by the Heartland logo to create a strong link between the bar and the festival itself.
The color palette was drawn from the red bricks of Egeskov Castle, where the Heartland Festival takes place. The warm tones reflect the character of wine and have an appetizing quality. The primary font for the identity is influenced by the style seen on jazz covers from the 50s and 60s, tapping into the cultural facets associated with wine.
